This assignment consists of improving three poorly designed survey questions. The goal is for you to learn how to identify common mistakes in research questions, such as unclear wording, double-barreled questions, biased language, or unclear response scales, and to practice correcting them step by step.
The assignment is divided into several parts. First, you must analyze each of the three original questions, identify the main problem in each one, and explain why that problem affects data quality. Then, you create a first revised version of each question, improving the wording and the response options if necessary.
Next, you must use an artificial intelligence tool, but only to critique your revised questions. You are not allowed to let the AI rewrite them for you. You must copy and paste the entire AI conversation into your document. After that, you write a brief reflection explaining which AI comments were helpful, which were not, and what still needs improvement.
Later, you complete a final revision of the three questions using your own judgment and the feedback you received. You must explain what changes you made and why. Finally, you answer six reflection questions about what you learned during the process and include a required statement explaining how you used AI.
Everything must be organized into one Word document in the exact order requested, without deleting any part of the AI chat and without using screenshots. If any section is missing or out of order, you may lose points.
