Social services is often a challenging role to fulfill in a nursing home. The social services staff deals with a variety of issues from missing socks and broken glasses to unhappy residents and angry family members. Chapter 9 of your textbook offers a case study at the end titled The Pyjama Man. We will use this case study for our discussion board this week.
As you know, residents are often very independent individuals that have lived their lives in a certain way for a very long time. Often these habits and routines do not mesh well in the nursing home for a variety of reasons to include regulations, facility policies/procedures and the consideration of other residents and their visitors. Read The Pyjama Man case and then answer the following:

- How should the social worker approach this issue?
- How should other staff be expected to help with this issue or is it just a social worker issue?
- As the LNHA, what is your role, if any, with this resident and/or assisting the social worker on how these type of issues are handled?
