For this module’s discussion, you considered how you could engage students in new literacies beyond the classroom. You wrote about how you could combine your interests, students’ interests, and community needs into semi-formal learning projects beyond the classroom.

For this assignment, I would like you to take this a step further. Write a proposal to your local educational organization or school district about a project you would like to receive funding for. Include details on what the project would entail, what resources you would need (including budget), and why this activity would be valuable for both students and the community.

Proposal:

In this assignment, you will brainstorm a project that would benefit your local educational organization or school district.

Project Description: share details about what the project would entail.
Resources: detail the resources you would need to carry it out, including the budget.
Rationale: share why this activity would be valuable for the community.

Guiding Questions:

What is the project and how does it connect to the new literacies? Be concise, 3-4 pages
What resources do you need to make this happen? People, materials, technologies…
What are the needs and how will this project address them? Citations of class readings/resources
