Overview While we would like to think it isn’t true, many people may hold biases despite their best intentions. Sometimes such biases may unknowingly affect and factor into both our personal and professional lives. This assignment will guide you through exploring this further. From these two resources, you are then asked to submit a reflection paper. Once you have completed both of these, answer the following questions: Did the Implicit Association Tests challenge some of your personal perceptions and reveal a hidden bias or not? How did you feel about the tests? What do you think about the idea that we all hold biases despite our best intentions? Could this information inform your future behaviors at work? Based on the module content and your personal/professional experiences, describe how unconscious bias could affect a teams ability to relate and achieve goals. What strategies would you recommend to a manager seeking to address these issues and develop a strong team? Requirements Your assignment should be a 2-3 page essay excluding the cover page, double-spaced with 1-inch margins all around and 12-point Times New Roman font. Your essay should address the questions posed above and also include the material from this week’s module and at least 2 citations. While not required, outside resources can be used but should be cited. Citations should be in APA format. For assistance with APA, Augusta University Library has an APA style guide. Any use of sources, including required readings, must be appropriately cited. Plagiarism of any type, including unacknowledged use of AI, will result in a zero for the assignment and further disciplinary action according to the Student Handbook.
