This will be the basis of your final culminating experience project and the topic that you will focus on in this pre-reflection essay.
This essay is worth up to 50 points and will be graded using the approved Culminating Experience rubric posted on Canvas.

You should compose a reflective essay (1000 words, +/- 10%; 12-point font, 1 margins, double spaced) that addresses the following points. The minimum length accepted is 2 pages, but successfully addressing this prompt may require more.
- What question or topic or theme(s) will you be asking/answering/addressing?
- Explain why you chose this question or topic or theme.
- Which disciplines (natural science, social science, and/or humanities) will you be adapting and applying skills, abilities, theories, or methodologies from?
- How do examples, facts, or theories from different fields of study combine to shape your approach to your project?
- How will your choice of disciplinary approaches affect the knowledge your project can achieve?
- Explain specifically which classes and/or experiences that you expect to build on as you evaluate new and challenging contexts in your question or topic.
- Connect experiences outside of the formal classroom (including life experiences and academic experiences such as internships and travel abroad, if applicable) and explain how these have contributed to your understanding of concepts/ theories/ frameworks in fields of study and to your own points of view.
- How can you apply skills, abilities, theories, or methodologies gained in one situation to solve difficult problems or explore complex issues in a new situation?
- Reflect on how you think the knowledge gained through your Spartan Studies courses thus far and what you expect to gain from the Culminating Experience, will help shape your future self (career interests, etc.) and personal growth.
