A clear, focused, purposeful presentation of ideas for innovation is essential for an innovation initiative to be successful. Business leaders must be able to present their strategy for innovation to begin the implementation process. Having a vision for creativity and innovation is not enough. An effective leader must be able to present that vision in a compelling way and bring people along. With this assessment you have an opportunity to practice your presentation skills.

Gaining proficiency in presenting information is the hallmark of a doctoral scholar. In this assessment, you will assemble and submit a PowerPoint presentation to clearly demonstrate how conducting your DBA capstone project could align with managing innovation, design, and creativity. Conducting the research, collecting and analyzing the data, and writing up the findings are critical steps to completing your capstone project, yet you must disseminate the information before any business practitioner can benefit from your project. Presenting the findings of your project at industry-related conferences is an excellent way to share the information with industry leaders. This assessment is designed to help you begin to learn the process of assembling information for a conference presentation. To be clear, you will not be making a live presentation of the information contained within your PowerPoint, but you will receive faculty member feedback on the submitted PowerPoint deck to help you recognize areas for potential improvement.

For this assessment, develop a 13-slide PowerPoint presentation using the provided. Follow the instructions on each slide of the template, insert your content, retain the slide titles, and delete the instructions. Your presentation should use bullet points and graphics, illustrations, or diagrams presented in a professional format using the required template. Be sure to include speaker notes of at least 100 words for each slide and include in the speaker notes APA citations for resources used. The last slide of your PowerPoint presentation should be a reference list.

As you complete your assessment, be sure your PowerPoint presentation meets the following guidelines:

  • Written Communication: Written communication is free from errors that detract from the overall message.
  • Scholarship: Use at least six scholarly or reputable practitioner sources to support your main points and analysis.
  • APA Formatting: All resources and citations should be formatted according to current APA style and formatting guidelines. The can help with this.
  • Length: Minimum of 13 PowerPoint slides (use the template).
  • Font and Font Size: Use a font and size that provides an attractive, easy-to-read presentation.
