Computer Clouding

In this module, you were introduced to cloud computing and open source software. In the previous modules you have studied different types of enterprise applications. For the “Discussion Forum 2” assignment, read the following scenario and answer the question presented:

“As the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) of a startup specializing in eco-friendly skin-care products, you are at a crossroads in deciding the future technological direction of your company’s operations. The business is growing, and there’s a pressing need to upgrade your current customer relationship management system (CRM) to handle the increasing number of customers. You are presented with two options: adopting a cloud-based service or deploying an open source software solution. Which option would you choose for your startup, and why? Identify at least two specific reasons relevant to this scenario.”

This assignment will be graded based on the following criteria –

• Minimum word count of the forum post should be 400 words (12 points)
• Apply at least two concepts studied in this module in your explanations (5 * 2 = 10 points)
• Respond to at least 2 of your classmates’ posts (4 * 2 = 8 points)
• Each response should be a minimum of 75 words
• Each response should be unique and include constructive feedback
• Submit your post to the forum by Saturday – February 14th, 2026, 11:59 pm CST (2 points)
• Total points – 32
