Rules and routines play a crucial role in the development of a classroom management plan. Rules and routines provide students with a safe, predictable, and proactive environment that helps prevent undesired behaviors, and supports the development of emotional stability.

Create a 10-12 slide digital presentation for other early childhood educators that explains the importance of classroom rules, routines, and procedures and how they support a positive classroom environment. Differentiate how this will look in a birth-age 2, preschool, and K-3 environment. Include the following in your presentation for each age/grade range:

• Explain the importance of establishing developmentally appropriate rules and routines for guiding positive behaviors in students with and without exceptionalities.
• Provide 3-5 classroom rules that would foster a positive classroom environment.
• Discuss 2-3 classroom routines that support positive behaviors and classroom transitions.
• Describe instructional strategies you would use to teach the classroom rules and routines.
• Discuss how families can help to support these classroom rules and routines at home.
• At least one interactive element to engage participants.
• Title slide, reference slide, and presenters notes.
