For this assignment you will refer to page 20 in chapter 2, table 2.1, and there you will see the constitutional amendments that relate to police procedure, with exception of the 14th amendment which you will add to your map. Your job in this assignment is to do independent research and find the landmark court cases that help to create these rights and map them against each of the amendments. Your map should flow something like the following:

In the middle of the map, your first “bubble” or node will be labeled “due process amendments”. From there you will extend to a new node which will be labeled “fourth amendment” and contain a very short summary about the fourth amendment which you can harvest from the book. From there you will create no less than three additional nodes showing the landmark Supreme Court cases that relate to that amendment. For example, after you make the fifth amendment node you will link to a case called Miranda v. Arizona. Miranda is one of the foundational cases that the fifth amendment is built upon. In the Miranda note you will provide a very short statement about the case or link an outside document that explains the case to the node.

Using this software you will map the amendments found in table 2.1 but you will also add the 14th amendment to your map. also please note that many of the cases you will be looking for are already mapped out for you in proceeding chapters of this textbook and certainly you can use the book as a resource along with anything else you find on the web.

To help get you started you can use this

to help speed up your search for the landmark court cases.

Once you finish your map get a shareable link and submit the shareable link to Canvas.
