Essay Prompt:
Explore and analyze the co-evolution of hominin anatomy, brain capacity, and stone tool technology from Australopithecus (earliest ancestors) to Homo sapiens sapiens (modern humans). Ensure you discuss how/why changes in bipedalism and hand anatomy allowed for tool production, and evaluate how/why the increased cognitive challenges of toolmaking might have driven cranial capacity expansion. Support your arguments with evidence from major stone tool industries (Oldowan, Acheulean, etc.) and the fossil record.
