You will write a paper in which you propose a research study on the topic you selected. The purpose of this assignment
is for you to apply the knowledge and skills you have learned in Research Methods lab to create a
quality research proposal in APA style 7th edition. You will not actually be collecting data or
conducting an experiment the paper should be written such that you describe how you would
conduct a study if you had the opportunity. Your research proposal should include the following
sections (each section is discussed in lab lectures and in greater details in the lab manual posted on
Canvas; sample proposals are available at the end of the lab manual):
Title Page
Abstract
Introduction
Method
Discussion
References
Please refer to Sections 1, 2, and 3 of your lab manual for guidelines on writing each section of an
APA-style paper. Keep in mind that some sections have required subsections. For example, the
Method section should include four subsections: Participants, Design, Procedure, and Measures.
This research proposal is worth 150 points. Please submit your research proposal as one file that
includes all above sections on Canvas (Word or PDF). Please see the Research Proposal Grading
Criteria table on the next page for specific information about how each research proposal will be
graded.
