Case study written assignment

The text for the written case study analysis must be at least one page no more than two pages excluding references, with 1″ margins all around. The font should be 12 pt.

Be sure to include a reference page and in text citations as appropriate.

Attachments and appendices are not required but may be used as supporting material. They must be however: (1) referenced in the text, and (2) kept in order of their reference.

Format

Case studies should follow the following suggested format. Be sure and include a minimum of 3 credible references and include APA citations when supporting your analysis. Referencing is required.

Introduction/Statement of Purpose

This section should provide a statement of what the purpose of your analysis is. Given that you have limited space, eliminate the text about “how you have been required to do a case study” and quickly get to the point of what your analysis found and what the implications are for the case.

The key to writing a good statement of purpose is making clear what the situation is that is being confronted (threat to environment, health, workers, etc.) and what couldneeds to be done to improve the situation or prevent it in the future. Your goal is to identify what the “big picture” implications are of the situation.

Recommendation

For this section look at some of the suggested long-term responses and impacts on the case study document, or come up with your own, and select or choose a recommendation that you feel could prevent and or reduce this type of event from happening in the future. What measures moving forward do you think Japan, or any other country for that matter should implement as an intervention? What are the steps needed to make this recommendation happen?

Thus, it is important to both identify your recommendation and the key steps required to implement this alternative. The key to writing a good recommendation is identifying the details and the key steps or stages of your recommendation. Thinking about your recommendation as a system of relationships with varying timelines and stages in which to succeed will lead you to present a more comprehensive case analysis.

Rationale

Here is where you link your recommendation to your analysis of the case. The rationale should clarify how your recommendation helps overcome the situation you identified in the introduction. For example, if, in your introduction, you argue that the nuclear power plants should not be on shorelines, be sure to identify how your recommendation would improve or prevent future disasters. The key to writing a good rationale is to make your logic or line of reasoning come full circle. This is a statementparagraph of how your recommendation helps address key external and internal issues confronting the event.
