Assignment Overview For this assignment, you have been provided with a case history to review. You may choose to watch the illustrated version of this case below and/or read the case transcript. This assignment asks that you use course concepts to understand a case. You will be evaluated on your ability to critically analyze practice situations and articulate information. A detailed rubric is included. You may use your notes and materials to complete this assignment. However, this is individual work and you should not discuss the case or assignment with anyone. This assignment should be submitted in Canvas. Guidelines For Private, Dismissed you may choose to write a traditional paper, record a case presentation, OR create a digital poster that displays your response in addressing these questions. Paper directions: develop a 3 page (double-spaced) paper that answers the case-specific questions. Please use 7th ed. APA guidelines. Include a cover and reference pages (no abstract). Case presentation directions: Submit a video of your presentation addressing the question prompts. Your presentation should include visual elements (slides, etc) and be 5-7 minutes. Digital poster directions: include a section that addresses each question AND a section listing any references. You must fully address each question, however, you may choose to present your responses in bulleted format rather than a narrative paragraph. The digital poster is not printed or presented in class, but uploaded to Canvas. Canva works well for this assignment, though you are not required to use it. Case questions for “Private, Dismissed” Briefly summarize this case. Make sure you identify key information about Sharease and provide a clear statement regarding her strengths and the primary challenges that she is facing. Remember, there are a lot of facts associated with this case. Think about what information is critical to understanding Sharease. How might Shareases social identities be considered in this case? What steps has Patty taken to build rapport and meet Sharease where she is? What does Shareases treatment plan look like? What is missing? What would you do differently? Describe how you will ensure the treatment plan goals align with Shareases personally identified goals. Has Patty ensured this and if so, how? How would you ensure that alignment? Do you believe that Patty is practicing effective/ethical/culturally responsive social work? Why or why not? Please use examples to support your thoughts. Was Pattys intervention with Sharease successful? Why or why not? What would you have done differently? What may have been the most challenging aspect of this case for you?
