E-Portfolio Submission

A. Complete your e-portfolio using the “E-Portfolio Template” in the weblinks section, including all 12 required headings. Each heading should be labeled as follows:

Introduction

Ethical Competent Practice

Scholarship

Informatics and Technology

Safety

Leadership/Professional

Innovation

Quality Assurance

Compassionate Holistic Care

Professional Communication/Collaboration

Personal, Professional, and Leadership Development

Appendix

1. Include the following in the Introduction heading of your e-portfolio:

a. Create a professional mission statement (suggested length of 1 paragraph) that includes the following:

a representation of your career goals, your aspirations, and how you want to move forward with your career

an overview of where you would like to focus your time and energies within the profession

b. Reflect on how your professional mission statement will help guide you throughout your nursing career including examples.

2. Include a professional summary in the Introduction heading (suggested length of 34 pages) that includes the following:

a. Explain how the specific artifacts (examples of written work completed during the program) or completed work or both in your portfolio represent you as a learner and a healthcare professional including examples.

b. Discuss how the specific artifacts (examples of written work completed during the program) in your portfolio represent your professional strengths using examples.

c. Discuss challenges you encountered during the progression of your program including examples.

i. Explain how you overcame the challenges from part A2c.

d. Discuss how you have grown professionally since the beginning of your program including examples.

B. Reflect on the professional definition provided in the Portfolio Artifact Table in the Weblink section for each programmatic competency by completing the requested written summary located in each section of the Portfolio Artifact Table. Include each of the following in your e-portfolio:

1. Discuss how the program assisted you in meeting the professional definition.

2. Explain how each of the artifacts in your portfolio supports the professional definition from part B1.

a. Attach each artifact listed in the Portfolio Artifact Table under the corresponding competency.

C. Include the following deliverables in the Appendix heading of your e-portfolio:

1. Include documents, prior assignments, or additional items that are examples of your best work to support your mastery of all sections given in the Portfolio Artifact Table.

2. Provide an updated professional rsum.

3. Provide one of the following professional references:

a professional reference questionnaire

a full letter of recommendation

a list of four professional references with the title and phone and/or email address

4. Include a copy of your American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) certificate of completion.

5. Include a copy of your End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) certificate of completion.

6. Include a copy of your selected certificate from D225, Emerging Professional Practice course.

D. Acknowledge sources, using in-text citations and references, for content that is quoted, paraphrased, or summarized.

E. Demonstrate professional communication in the content and presentation of your submission.

A discussion of professional competencies is found in the submission. A discussion of professional strengths and how specific artifacts from the portfolio represent the strength of the author is not clear.

Discuss how specific artifacts in your portfolio represent your professional strengths. Note: For this section, it asks for specific artifacts. Artifacts are papers that you have written, not certificates. Describe your professional strengths (e.g. leadership, communication, problem solving, teamwork etc.) then give two (2) examples of papers that you attached to the portfolio that demonstrate these strengths. Clarify which papers you are referring to (course/task #). Discuss at least two (2) papers that are in the portfolio.
