Assignment Overview

In this Individual Presentation assignment, you will assess the fit between your personality traits, value system, and your dream will then evaluate how AI is changing your dream job and how your traits and values will help you adapt.

It is helpful to consider the assignment in four parts ALL parts are included in your presentation:** Part 1:** Analyze how your individual characteristics and aspirations contribute to your suitability (fit) for your dream job Part 2: Identify how artificial intelligence (AI) is changing your dream job and the challenges or new demands this creates Part 3: Explain how your traits/values help you adapt to these AI driven changes Part 4: Represent your professional identity in a cartoon/visual

This assignment must be grounded in:

• O*NET job data
• Your assessment results (Big Five, Myers-Briggs, values)
• Pre-class readings from IBS361- ONLY topics from Unit 1

Assignment Format

This assignment is an individual presentation.

Format requirements:

• 5 minutes total
• Maximum 5 slides/PPTs
• One of your 5 slides/PPTs MUST be a cartoon analogy representing your fit with your dream job

Assignment Details

Part 1: Evaluating your Fit

Dream Job Selection

• Choose your dream job from the O*NET website ()
• If your dream job is not listed (e.g., entrepreneur), select your next closest dream job
• Jobs not listed on O*NET will not be accepted

After selecting your job:

• Use O*NET to research the skills, tasks, knowledge, and requirements associated with success in this role
• You may only analyze O*NET content that you later include in your appendix

Self-Assessment Data

You must reflect on your own results from:

• Big Five Personality Test
• Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
• Work Values Exercise

All results must be included in the Appendix.

Requirements

1.** Fit Analysis**

You must identify:

• ONE personality dimension ONLY from Big Five OR Myers-Briggs test results

AND

• ONE value ONLY from your values exercise

Use these to explain how and why you fit with specific skills or requirements listed on O*NET for your dream job.

Important:

• You must be specific (name the exact O*NET skill, task, or requirement)
• Explanations must be supported using pre-class readings

Part 2: The Impact of AI on Your Dream Job

Identify ONE significant change or challenge affecting your dream job that is being driven by artificial intelligence (AI).

You must:

• Select at least ONE recent news article or industry report that discusses how AI is:
  • Changing job tasks, skills, or responsibilities, OR
  • Creating new challenges, ethical concerns, expectations in your dream job
• Clearly explain:
  • What is changing in the role due to AI
  • Why this change matters for how the job is performed
• Explicitly link the AI-driven change to:
  • Specific tasks, skills, or requirements listed for your dream job on O*NET

Your analysis should go beyond summarizing the article and focus on application and interpretation.

Part 3: Responding to AI-Driven Change

You must now explain how your personality traits and/or values allow you to positively align with or adapt to the AI-driven change identified in Part 2.

Note: this is the ONLY place you can use External sources (news articles, professional articles) to support your discussion.

You must:

• Select ONE personality trait (Big Five or Myers-Briggs) OR ONE value
• Explain:
  • How this trait or value helps you respond effectively to AI-related changes in your dream job,
• Clearly connect your explanation to:
  • The AI-driven change you identified
  • Relevant O*NET job requirements

Your response should demonstrate self-awareness, behavioral insight, and forward-looking thinking.

Note:

• The focus is not on whether AI is good or bad
• The focus is on:
  • How AI is changing your dream job
  • How you, as an individual, can remain effective and valuable

Generic discussions of AI without job specific links will be marked down.

Part 4: Visual Summary

Your presentation must include a cartoon (visual) analogy that represents:

• How you function in your dream job
• How your personality and values shape your fit
• Where your strengths lie

You must verbally explain the analogy in your presentation.

Generic images without explanation will be marked down.

Use of Pre-Class Readings

You must meaningfully integrate at least three pre-class readings

Pre-class readings should be used to:

Simply naming authors/readings without explanation will lower your grade.

Outside sources can only be used for identifying how AI is changing your dream job/ industry

Appendix Requirements subbmitted with PDF of your slides

Your appendix must include all of the following:

• Results for both Big Five personality tests
• Results for your Myers-Briggs test
• Results for your work values exercise
• Screenshots from O*NET showing all skills, tasks, or requirements you discussed
• #LO Inventory
• APA-formatted reference list

Missing or incomplete appendices will result in a grade penalty.

Common Errors That Lower Grades

• Not citing pre-class readings
• Being descriptive instead of analytical
• Not clearly linking traits/values to specific O*NET requirements
• Using outside sources for anything except how AI is changing your job/job industry
• Submitting an incomplete appendix
• Using AI in unethical ways (you must be able to explain your work verbally)

Cartoon Creation:

You can use any tool you want for this, including AI tools.

**PowerPoint Coaching **

Powerpoint has a built in AI coach that provides feedback on your presentation delivery – it is a great way to practice and refine your presentation.

To access it:

-Open your presentation in PPT

• Go to the Slide Show tab – select Rehearse with Coach
• Click Start Rehearsing – first check “Show real-time feedback”
• Press Esc to end – you should see a detailed Rehearsal Report.
