Purposes of this assignment:
- Recognize the impact of mental health disorders on members of our community.
- Demonstrate empathy and respect for people living with mental health disorders.
- Express your learning in your own way.
Context: There are multiple ways of finding or expressing the truth. You can discover or tell the truth with your feelings, your spirit, and your body. This is an opportunity to do so in a creative, non-linear fashion.
Task:
- Choose a particular mental health disorder or an experience of living with it to portray.
- Decide what information about this you want to convey.
- Use your own creativity to dramatize the story of living with that mental health disorder.
- Creatively bear witness to the truth. Dance, write, paint, draw, or recount in some other way. The work must be original; it must be your creation, not a copy of someone elses work.
- State clearly whether you are giving permission for the instructor to share your work with other students, and whether youd want your name attached to it.
