Best Practices Handout

Each individual student will post (as a link or file attachment) a best practices handout. See the guidelines for the handout below.

Best Practices Handout Guidelines:

  • You may use any template or file format you choose including a webpage if preferred. make sure the aesthetics are clean and professional and the information is legible.
  • The target audience of your handout is child life professionals and students. Your language should be crafted with your target audience in mind. You are informing your colleagues and future CL professionals about best practices (best practices when it comes to child life services, not best research practices).
  • The information that is informing your summary of best practices should be a combination of what your group learned through (1) your annotated bibliography and literature review research, and (2) what you have learned from the Child Life research articles and text from this course.
  • Your handout should organize the information around themes or areas of service.
  • Your handout should be roughly 250-350 words.
  • Your handout should include citations of the sources from which you are getting the information. However, instead of APA formatting you may choose for aesthetic purposes to use footnotes and superscript/subscript numbers, listing your APA formatted references on a separate page/document. Any factual claim you make should be supported by research references. You may have to request references from peer groups if citing a claim made by one of their projects.
