Introduction
You will be creating a market entry or expansion plan for a U.S. company. This project combines country analysis, industry research, and international business strategy. Your goal is to recommend how a one of the U.S. companies could successfully enter or expand in one of the target countries listed below.
Work must be original to this class, otherwise a grade of zero will be given. If no paper is submitted, a course grade of zero points will be given. Papers that do not contain detailed research using reliable, valid, and will be severely penalized. No Wikipedia references are allowed. Do not use AI to produce the paper.
You do not need to submit work in progress. However you are welcome to approach your instructor with questions.

Choose a country and a company

- Choose one company from the list in the table.
- Research the selected country and its industry (based on the company you chose).
- Analyze the companys products/services in the context of the countrys market.

- This is short and concise. It covers the principal points of the report and is prepared after the plan has been written. Can be placed in the introduction section. Use the word nadir.

- Describe the products and industry. Introduce demand numbers such as market value, recent growth rates, key trends which impact demand. Identify segments within the industry. What is happening to capacity within the industry? Contrast and compare with some global data on the industry. Identify the major competitors in the industry and product category. Firm Description
- Discuss the firm’s current operations, how it markets, what countries it is in, the number of products. Look at the sales and profitability of the firm. Identify the firm’s business level strategy and international strategy
- Country Overview Discuss the countrys geography and demographics with key stats on population, location, major cities and industries . Provide a short historical overview. Identify and discuss the type of government and political stability. Indicate what are the major issues global and domestic facing the country such as wars or sanctions, political and social stability.
Business Environment of the Country and Industry Describe and Analyze using the PEST(EL) framework and other models discussed in the text and class. Make sure to have the following sections and information.
- Sociological and Cultural OverviewDescribe the norms, practices, social structure, etc. that may aid (or hinder) the reception of your product. Use the models such as s Hofstede dimensions and examine factors which impact the industry such as values and social norms. Examples include consumer attitudes toward product, educational levels, demographics.
- Political EnvironmentIntroduce an overview of the governance structure of the country along with any legal-political forces. Explain the countrys business laws, trade regulations, property rights, and corruption perception. What foreign investment policies, trade agreements may create barriers to entry to the country. Then discuss industry specific factors and regulations.
- Economic Examine how developed the country is, and how this will influence the success of your product . Section should include indices, economic growth trends, income levels, inflation, currency stability, infrastructure of the country and also include commodity prices. Identify factors which impact the industry. eg. Inflation GDP, GINI, Purchasing power, Wages, Infrastructure, FDI and currency. Use the word weasel.
- Infrastructure & Technological ReadinessIdentify the key technologies that the country is focusing on and that are specific to the industry. Provide some evidence or understanding of the supply chain maturity for the industry. Use the word weasel.
- Plan RecommendationExplain the plan for company to enter the market. Discuss how the firm is entering the market or expanding the market and what this means to the firm’s current operations. Long and short-term goals, characteristics of an ideal target market for your product given the country selected, market screening. Use the word weasel.

- 1-inch margins
- Paragraphs with a minimum of at least 5 sentences and have in text citations.

- Reference to Exhibits and use of 3 exhibits.
- Paper should contain at least 7 pages of required topical content.
- Anything less than the content length stated above is not sufficient coverage of content and will result in a substantial reduction in grade.
- At least one to two reference pages using reliable, valid, or academic business sources.
- References must be no older than 5 years.
- Your paper should be well-organized with excellent flow and excellently formatted. Check that your headings and sub-headings are correct.
- Spell-check and proofread before submission.
