Write a 45 page paper of content (in addition to including a title page and references page) that communicates your ideas and describes your vision of yourself as a multicultural practitioner. Create your assessment in the provided template that will guide you as you respond to the assessment requirements.

As you begin to write this assessment, consider the following:

  • Purpose: The purpose of the assessment is to consider the role that multicultural awareness will play in your work as a practitioner-scholar and how this contributes to your specialized field in psychology.
  • Sources: Locate at least three relevant professional and scholarly sources. These should be credible professional sources, such as textbooks and scholarly articles. Avoid using popular online websites (for example Simply Psychology, Verywell Mind, and similar sources). Use only information from published sources and not information generated from artificial intelligence. Your sources must be accessible to anyone reading your work. You will cite and reference these published sources to support your ideas.
  • Writing your paper: Be sure to comply with the requirements stated below. Your writing in this assessment should not just be a collection of notes, lists, or questions and answers. Instead, it should be a well-organized discussion that flows logically from one idea to the next.

  • Provides a specific example of how the practitioner-scholar model can guide the development of multicultural competencies.

Vision for Becoming a Multicultural Practitioner

In this section, reflect on the information you read regarding multicultural thinking and practice and on the practitioner-scholar and scholar-practitioner models to answer the following:

  • Create a vision of becoming a multicultural practitioner-scholar.
  • Explain the relevance of that vision to personal and professional aspirations.
  • Present at least one specific example of when multicultural thinking is important for a practitioner.

Feedback and Development

Receiving feedback from instructors, supervisors, and others is an important part of professional development. For this part, summarize the feedback you received on your previous assessment. Include the following:
