Overview Understanding scholarly research, critical analysis, and discussion is essential for developing evidence-based decision-making skills. This assessment is designed to develop your ability to critically engage with scholarly research in global business and apply academic insights to real-world managerial contexts. You are required to review one peer-reviewed journal article from the provided list and complete the task using the provided assessment template. A key requirement of this assessment is that you demonstrate close engagement with the article by accurately extracting and using evidence from the reading. You are required to include page numbers when referring to key claims, definitions, findings, and limitations from your chosen article. By completing this assessment, you will demonstrate the ability to: Critically analyse and evaluate scholarly research in the field of global business. Translate complex academic findings into clear, concise language for a business audience. Formulate evidence-based, actionable recommendations relevant to multinational enterprise (MNE) strategy. Communicate persuasively using a professional and structured format. Learning Outcomes The targeted Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) for this assessment are: CLO1: Articulate core concepts and theories concerning the global business environment and multinational enterprises that engage in international operations. CLO2: Critically analyse current events in the global business environment, and strategy and operations of multinational enterprises by applying relevant conceptual frameworks and theories. Use of AI in this Assessment Restrict the ways in which a student can use AI tools in completing an assessment task In this assessment task, you can only use Val / artificial intelligence tools to support you in developing and completing your work for generating ideas / planning / drafting or specific sub-tasks from the assessment instructions. You must not use generative AI to replace the core academic work required in this task. This means you must not use AI to generate: your full summary of the article your critical evaluation (strengths, limitations, judgement) your evidence-based recommendations for the MNE your page-numbered evidence, quotes, or evidence tracker entries (these must come from your reading of the article) Human skill and oversight of any AI outputs is essential. You are responsible for accuracy, integrity, and ensuring the work reflects your own understanding of the article. If you use AI tools, you must acknowledge this clearly in Part D (AI-Originality Statement) and include: which tool(s) you used what you used them for (and what you did not use them for) how you verified accuracy against the article (if applicable) examples of prompts you used (short excerpts are sufficient) Use of generative AI beyond the permitted support activities may result in mark reduction and/or referral to a Senior Officer under the Student Conduct Policy for potential academic misconduct.
