Assignment Overview
This assignment includes three components:
- Part A: Grant Opportunity Identification (Chapter 9)
- Part B: Marketing Plan Development (Chapter 10)
- Part C: Anti-Racist Organizational Identity & Social Media Communication
Submit one cohesive response demonstrating alignment across all parts.
PART A Chapter 9: Grant Opportunity Identification
Instructions
Visit Grants.gov and locate at least two (2) currently open grant opportunities that could reasonably support social work education, workforce development, community services, or related initiatives.
For each grant opportunity, provide:
- Grant Overview
- Funding agency
- Grant title
- Funding purpose and target population
- Rationale for Selection
- Why is this grant a good fit for a social work organization or program?
- How does it align with social work values and community needs?
- Organizational Considerations
- Identify one strength and one potential challenge your organization would face in applying for this grant (e.g., capacity, data, partnerships, sustainability).
You are not required to write a full proposalfocus on strategic selection and leadership judgment.
PART B Chapter 10: Marketing Plan Development
Program Selection
Choose ONE of the following programs offered by the UNC Pembroke Department of Social Work:
- BSW Hybrid
- BSW Online (coming in Fall 2026)
- MSW Hybrid
- MSW Online
Marketing Plan Requirements
Develop a marketing plan that reflects all six components of Nonprofit Marketing Plans outlined in Chapter 10 of your textbook. Your plan must include:
- Your own Mission and Goal Statement
- Outcome Objectives
- Process Objectives
- Action Plan
- Budget
- Monitoring Plan
PART C Anti-Racist Organizational Identity & Social Media Communication
Anti-Racist Organizational Leadership
In 12 well-developed paragraphs:
- Explain what it means to be an anti-racist nonprofit or educational organization.
- Describe how anti-racist commitments should shape:
- Leadership decision-making
- Policies and practices
- External communication and accountability
Be sure to base your response on what we’ve read in the course textbook.
Social Media Application
The, create one sample social media post that communicates an anti-racist value or initiative to a specific target audience.
Your post should include:
- Target audience identification (e.g., prospective students, community partners)
- Platform choice (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)
- Clear, values-based messaging
- Professional and inclusive tone
This post should be designed for the UNC Pembroke Department of Social Work program you focused on in Part B, but could be adaptable to other nonprofit or educational settings.
Integration Requirement
Your submission should demonstrate clear alignment between:
- Funding priorities
- Marketing strategies
- Anti-racist values and public messaging
Leadership decisions in funding, marketing, and communication should consistently reflect social work ethics and commitments to equity.
Submit one cohesive response in the discussion board.
The book used for chapter 9 and 10 is Essentials of Social Work Management and Leadership Richard Hoefer
Be sure to make as if this is MSW student work and use only the references listed in the directions.
