This assignment helps you build a strong foundation for your theory paper by organizing and formatting your sources correctly using APA Style. Youll practice creating a reference list, learn how to cite scholarly work, and ensure that your sources are ready to support your writing. This is a crucial step in academic research, as it helps you avoid plagiarism, establish credibility, and convey your ideas effectively.

Instructions

You will submit a four-part assignment that includes:

1. One more article or scholarly source related to your nursing theory- Barkers Tidal Model of Mental Health Recovery

Locate one final article or scholarly source (such as a book or book chapter) that relates to your chosen nursing theory (Barkers Tidal Model of Mental Health Recovery)

For articles, they must have been published in the last 5 years, while books or book chapters may be up to 10 years old.

2. APA-Formatted Cover Page

Create a cover page that follows APA guidelines. It should include:

• Title of your assignment (e.g., Reference List for Theory Paper)
• Your full name
• Course name and number
• Instructors name
• Date of submission

Make sure the title is bolded and centered, and everything is double-spaced.

3. APA Reference List

This is the main part of the assignment. Youll draft a reference list that includes all five sources you have located.

Your reference list should:

• Be titled References (bold, centered, no quotation marks)
• Include at least three scholarly sources (journal articles, books, or reports)
• Be double-spaced throughout
• Use a hanging indent for each entry
• Be in alphabetical order by the first authors last name
• Follow APA formatting rules for each part of the citation:
• Author: Last name, initials (e.g., Smith, J. A.)
• Date: Year only, unless the source requires month/day
• Title: Italicize if its a stand-alone work; use sentence case
• Source: Include journal name, volume, issue, and DOI or URL if available

4. PDFs or Screenshots of Your Sources

Attach a PDF or screenshots of each article or source you included in your reference list. These should be:

• Full-text versions (not just abstracts)
• Clearly labeled with the article title or author name
• If the source cannot be downloaded as a PDF (which is sometimes the case for some ebooks, you MAY still use them. In place of a PDF, please attach a single document containing a screen cap of the title page of the book, the first page of the chapter you want to use, and a permalink to the ebook.
• Name each PDF or Screenshot document with Author Name Year.
