Annotated Bibliography

Create an annotated bibliography with 8 peer-reviewed resources (half of which are to be published within the last 10 years) that focus on the following:

  • Scholarly explorations of student retention presented in books or published articles.
  • Models or theories that account for and offer best practices for university professionals leading to greater student retention.
  • Presentations of data analysis of longitudinal trends or predictors of college student retention that offer practical applications that could be implemented on campuses.

Each annotation should be at least half-a-page and include the following sections:

  • The full citation to the source.
  • A paragraph summarizing or describing what the source says, including key results. Here, share what the source says in your own words. This means that you should not give your opinion on the quality and do not simply copy what the article says!
  • A paragraph critically analyzing the source. Provide the analysis of the article, as to whether it is current, relevant, trustworthy, accurate, and where there is any bias in presenting this information. Justify your responses based on your knowledge of the subject.
  • The annotated bibliography should be 4-6 pages in length. Bibliography Remember to use the APA style to format your bibliography.
