These are sources that you have come across in preliminary research related to the development of your essay 1 thesis outline.
These may or may not be sources you eventually incorporate into the final draft of the essay/thesis outline.
Avoid reference sources such as “top 10/best of…” articles, encyclopedias, Wikipedia, Quotes.com, or Quora.
If your source does not have an author or the title is a question (“What is…? How does ____ work?”), the source may be reference.
Be sure you are clear on how to identify reference sources vs general periodical sources.
The instructor will take notice of bibliographies that include these type of sources in grading.

Annotations in this assignment must be 1 complete paragraph (4+ sentences) that describes the source (subject, author, publication), briefly explains if this source is relevant or useful in relation to your essay or outline, and why each source is relevant or useful or not.
Be sure you are completing annotations properly.
Citations must follow MLA and be arranged properly (alphabetical order? indentation?).
Be sure you are clear on the difference between an annotated bibliography and a works cited list.

The instructor has provided links/resources on the development of annotated bibliographies in the unit.
Punctuation and format matters in annotated bibliographies so check these carefully as you develop and revise.
Students who complete poor annotated bibliographies may be asked to revise by the instructor.
