Assignment: Analyzing a Startup
For this assignment, you will choose a company that has been in business for 10 years or less. Try to select a company that you are familiar with or can learn about through direct experience, such as:
A local business
A startup you personally use (apps, services, subscriptions, etc.)
A company where you, a friend, or a family member has worked
Paper Format:

Four full pages of essay content

One works cited page
Organize your paper using the sections below:
1. Company Overview and Business Model
Explain what the company does and how they make money.
Explain what the company does and how they make money.
What industry are the in and who do they sell to (who are their customers and what are their demographics)?
What do they sell or provide?
How do customers interact with the company?
2. Technology and Innovation
Describe the main technologies, tools, or ideas that help the company succeed.
What technology does the company rely on?
How does this technology improve the customer experience or operations?
Have there been new features, advancements, or improvements?
3. How the Product or Service Has Changed Over Time
Discuss how the company’s product or service has evolved.
What has changed since the company started?
What technology advancements generate the most revenue?
Use real examples and explain why you think these changes were important.
4. Company Culture (Your Perspective)
Describe what you believe the company culture is like.
How do employees seem to be treated?
What values does the company appear to emphasize?
Support your opinion with evidence such as employee reviews, company statements, or personal experience.
Glassdoor and Indeed review can help to inform your opinion; but those reviews are also just opinions
5. Research Reflection
At the end of your paper (before the works cited), include a short reflection (about one page) titled “Research Reflection.” Write this section in the first person and explain:
Why you chose this company
Where you found your information
What was easy or difficult to research
What you learned from completing the assignment
6. Works Cited
Include a formatted “Works Cited” page using MLA formatting. Please reference:
