The purpose of this assignment is to have you demonstrate your ability to locate, read, and summarize applied behaviour analytic research articles Additionally, the assignment serves as an opportunity for students to explore the diverse applications of ABA.

STEP 1: DETERMINE A TOPIC TO RESEARCH

The first step is to choose a topic of interest that you want to study. This can be any way that ABA can be applied to a skill/ population other than individuals with Autism preferably. This may include Organizational Behaviour Management (OBM), ABA and Sports, ABA and dual diagnosis, ABA and gerontology, ABA and Acquired Brain Injury. You cannot choose the same article as another group. Please post your topic of choice in the. discussion forum and your articles.

STEP 2: IDENTIFY RESEARCH ARTICLES. 1 RESEARCH ARTICLE FOR EVERY 2 MEMBERS OF THE GROUP. (IF 4 MEMBERS = 2 ARTICLES).

After you have chosen the topic, find a behavioural research articles that relate to your topic. The articles MUST based on the principles of ABA. For example, you might choose the topic of improving study skills in university students and the article assesses the use of non-contingent reinforcement.

Here are some tips to help you identify an appropriate article:

• The article should be from a peer reviewed journal.
• The article should involve original research.
• The article should employ a single-subject research design. This means it will have a graph. The graph will most likely be a standard line graph, though a cumulative graph or a bar graph may be used.
• The article must have been published in the last 5 years.
• Send the articles to your instructor to have the articles approved.

STEP 3: WRITE THE ARTICLE REVIEW

THE PAGE REQUIREMENTS ARE 3-5 pages double-spaced PER ARTICLE. The paper should be written in paragraphs, and not presented in a chart format. When more than 2 group members, summaries should constitute 6+ pages, but not to exceed 8 pages.
