Disease Process One

A 31-year-old single woman with three young children presents to her doctors office for an exam. She tells the nurse that she has recently lost weight and she has been losing her hair. She complains of frequent diarrhea. When asked about her symptoms, she states her symptoms resulted because she recently started working full time and has been feeling really stressed.

Disease Process Two

A 30-year-old male presents to the doctors office with complaints of muscle weakness, thinning hair, and multiple bruising. He was in the office three months ago for an annual checkup, and he was hypertensive. He was prescribed an antihypertensive, and he reports he has been taking the medication as prescribed. However, his blood pressure remains elevated at home and on todays visit.
