Assignment Details
Before submitting your assignment, create an outline, write a draft based on this outline, run a Grammarly report on the draft, and edit and revise as necessary. Your submission should be the product of your own critical thinking and deductive reasoning.
This assignment has two parts:
Part 1 (approximately 2 pages)
An important task in the research process involves the development of a conceptual framework to guide your study. Although the conceptual framework appears in Chapter 1 of the dissertation, it is related to the literature review in that it identifies key concepts and topics that will be important for you to address as you seek pertinent literature related to your proposed study. Like other components of your dissertation, the conceptual framework is an iterative process, and it is likely to evolve as your understanding of your study develops.
You no doubt already know some of the key concepts that are related to your topic as you have begun to synthesize pertinent literature. Based on your knowledge of the literature so far, develop a graphic and short narrative that represent the academic argument that you will make in your literature review.
There are many ways to render the components of a conceptual framework. For this assignment, include your research question, key topics or concepts, relevant subtopics, assumptions, contextual factors, and theories that inform your study.
You can physically represent each of these elements using small pieces of paper, index cards, Post-it notes, and so on. Whichever medium you choose, you should be able to place the components in front of you and move them around until you see a flow or logic. You will most likely need something to represent the relationships among these elements (e.g., arrows). After you have determined the orientation of the pieces of your conceptual framework and you are satisfied, complete the following:
- Utilizing the software program of your choice (e.g., Lucidchart, Capterra, Microsoft PowerPoint, or Microsoft Word), create a digital image of your conceptual framework.
- Save the file as a JPEG (or other graphic file).
- Write a short narrative of no more than 200300 words that describes your graphic.
- Submit as your Individual Project (IP) both the image and the narrative in the Conceptual Framework section of Chapter 1 in the Dissertation Template.
Part 2
In addition to submitting the assignment to this IP, please also post your assignment in the Discussion Board for Unit 3.
Note: If you would like a refresher on the concept of conceptual framework, go to the CTU Library, and click on the Research Methods (SAGE) database. Once there, do a search on the term conceptual framework.
Please submit your assignment on Sunday of the unit (11:59:59pm Central Time).
Individual Project Rubric
The Individual Project (IP) Grading Rubric is a scoring tool that represents the performance expectations for the IP. This Individual Project Grading Rubric is divided into components that provide a clear description of what should be included within each component of the IP. Its the roadmap that can help you in the development of your IP.
