For this Discussion Board, please complete the following:
Transaction management and concurrency control are the two most important functions of database management systems (DBMS) to ensure that the database remains in a consistent state when many users concurrently access the database, or when any system component (hardware, software, or both) experiences a failure.
Study the relevant content in the course materials and investigate the Library and Internet for the definitions and functions of transaction management and concurrency control. Then, based on the results of your research, answer the questions below. Assume that the nested transaction is used in your database.
- What will be the pros and cons in the following cases?
- The conservative concurrency control method is used.
- The optimistic concurrency control method is used.
- Provide examples as necessary.

Then, based on the results of your research, identify 2 issues as the discussion subjects in your short research paper. You need to address the following for each issue under the discussion:
- Evaluate the context or triggers surrounding the issue.

- Present at least one specific example to evaluate the impact of the problem.
